COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Auto Collision Technology program provides each student 'with the opportunity to gain the knowledge and skills needed to enter and advance in the fast-growing field of automobile body repair. Auto Collision Technology has received certification from the National Automotive Technicians' Educational Foundation (NATEF).
The classroom and shop are equipped with up-to-date equipment. Students considering this course need basic math skills and the ability to read and understand technical materials. Students who successfully complete two years of class should be able to test for ASE certification in Auto Collision Repair. They should also possess the necessary entry-level skills to work as body and frame workers and as automobile painters.
Students are encouraged to continue technical training at a post secondary school or a technical institute.
Area Technical Center students completing the two-year program with a B or higher average can receive up to six hours credit at Arkansas State University Technical Institute in Marked Tree. They can also receive up to twenty seven hours of concurrent credit at Arkansas State University-Newport.
